Can you swap out phones on AT&T W/o Problems?

This is a two fold Q.

1) Any problems I might face if I get a crappy phone (retired att phone or "go phone") and swap the SIM every so often (possibly up to a few times a week -- I expect it to be more like a leave it in the old phone for a few months, then swap to the new for a few, and so on ... [I have a seasonal job, where the nice one would get trashed])?

2) If I (or the wife) gets a new phone [under contract extension] and don't like it can we sell it on eBay and get a used phone to her/my liking [from eBay, etc]?

I've never run into an issue swapping sim cards in all the AT&T phone's i've had. I usually throw my sim in a beater to go fishing, not the best environment for my iPhone.

As long as the phones you use are unlocked or locked to AT&T you should be fine. You can't use a phone locked to anything except your own network. So if you need to buy a used phone on ebay make sure it'll work for you.

Still want to make sure it's OK if I sell a new/newish phone if I don't like it even though I got it as part of a contract extension. Seems like it should be fine, but I could see some room for abuse here.

It's fine, but make sure when you sell it you let the buyer know it's locked to AT&T unless you get it unlocked yourself. Unlocked phones are worth quite a bit more as anybody with a SIM can use it. Double check w/ an ATT rep to make sure nothing can happen by somebody using your phone as they do register IMEI numbers to accounts.

And this is why you ALWAYS go with unlocked phones.
