Can you study w/music?

Nope. You either end up skimming and you lie to yourself that you read, or you're really so friggn good you can ignore the music.

Everytime I start listening to some music (Such as Nas - Illmatic) I get into the lyrics and the lyrics appear on my mind which keeps me from concentrating 100% so therefore I have to turn it off.

You cannot study stuff like econ/history in such w/music.

But for math it's perfect. you listen to your favorite tunes, and sit there and integrate like a mofo.

This is why god gave us insturmentals. Of course, since my normal music is very close to classical anyway these days, it's kind of easy 😛

Weird thing is, I can study in a loud cafeteria but I can't study with music or TV.

Yes, except for some heavy reading for comprehension.

Music best for engineering, math, or computer science. It helps me concentrate and keeps the flow of my work.
