Now try it with your eyes closed.

Most people can't do it for very long. Once you start go to, it's very hard to regain the equilibrium point. It's neat to see how much just seeing helps your body balance when you have a reference point.

Try it and see how long you last. 30 seconds would be a pretty good time. But of course with practice you can get up higher.

wow you're right. i can stand on one foot with my eyes closed, i just have to compensate much more with my foot.

I used to have serious ankle problems and they would make me do this exercise and many more. Once I got this down, next it was doing one legged squats with my eyes closed

They also had me practice my balance with something that looked like this. You put your feet on either side of the tennis ball and had to keep the evil contraption balanced on the tennis ball
