My son has a computer in his room and an Xbox360. We have just one ethernet jack in the room. Is it possible to split the coneection so that he can use both on the internet, not necessarily at the same time, although would be good too.

TIA

Assuming you already have a router, what you need is a switch. You can get 5 port switches for under $20 at the Egg.

Splitting Network when you have one jack is very simple.

Plug a Network switch to the wall outlet and plug the computer and the X-Box to the switch.

Splitting Internet is depending on how it is configured Now. If you have a Router and the room is connected to the Router then you are good.

Otherwise you have to further explain the whole house's Network setup.

Edit: I see you got already the same answer while I was typing. :D
