Can you SLI a 6800GTO & a 6800GT?

I've successfully SLIed two different models of the same manufacturer (both 6800U, one was Dual DVI the other DVI+VGA)

and two exactly specced cards of different manufactuer (evga 6600gt + xfx 6600gt)

However, I can't say this would work for everyone. So I wouldn't put money on the line to try it,

I could be wrong about this, but even if it was possible to SLI a GT and a GTO, I would imagine that they would default to running as the lowest common denominator. Essetnially, you would turn your GT into a GTO. Still might be worth it to you though because I'm sure two GTO's would be faster than a single GT. If you have two the cards and an SLI mobo, give it a whirl and tell us what happens 🙂

Has anyone spotted the fundamental mistake of the number of pipelines the GT version has. it is not 12 as suggested . it is 16 like the full ultra. the shader units i think are different between GT and Ultra. but i dont know between GT and GTO.

If the GT and GTO are from one manufacturer. both have the SLI capabilities then i belive that a simple bios flash would make the cards compatible as they are likley on exactly the same hardware. ....................
