can you share Program Files folder in winxp over a network?

The title pretty much tells it all. Is there a way to enable file sharing for the Program Files and Windows folders over my network in WinXP?

What errors does it give you when you share them?

When attempting to access from a comp on the network: "Access Denied"
When attempting to enable file sharing for these folders as administrator on the WinXP machine: "File sharing is not enabled for these folders because they are used by the operating system."

Now, of course, these are not necessarily errors. It may just be how WinXP works. What I want to know is, is there a way to do it?
