Can you set a motherboard on plywood?

I know they get hot, but hot enough to ignite? This computer will only be on for monitored periods, never overnight or for days at a time. I was thinking I could drill holes in the board for airflow, and of course have spacers from the board at about 2'', in the locations of the screw holes. Specifically this ASROCK Motherboard For AMD Model K7-VM2 and an Athlon xp 2200+. Thanks! (if you are wondering this is to be mounted in an arcade MAME cabinet.)

LOL you know what the flashpoint of wood is?

around 1000 degrees F (anyone with a soldering iron knows this). Covailently bonded hydrocarbons such as cellulose have high enegry bonds that are hard to break w/o a lot of enegry added to encrease enthropy.

I built me a rack out of wood and placed 4 computers with 1400mhz PIIIS and 2 Athlons XP 1400mhz "was half year ago" and it runs ok. I had an window ac unit for good nice cold air flow and it all ran good.
