Can you selectively transfer XBOX Live licenses?

I upgraded up to a 120GB HDD on my old Xenon Pro. I'm considering buying a Jasper Arcade and swapping my 120GB into it (faceplate change seems in the works, but we'll see).

Question on transferring licenses - can I transfer all but a few of the Arcade games (Castle Crashers, etc.)? I'd like to slap on the old 20GB HDDon the Xenon, download those Arcade games, and let my son play around with it.

This will also allow me to set up Parental Controls, AND prevent him from inadvertantly erasing anything...

Haven't plunged with the purchase of the Jasper Arcade yet. Me and the missus still discussing if we should go thru with this (he's young, and he has a Wii). But I think the new parental functions should help with my side of the argument. :D

I'll holler when I go thru it - it should be soon *crosses fingers*... hopefully!

My understanding of the license transfer tool is that it's all or nothing... that's what the text on MS's site leads me to believe (when you start the license transfer process).

However, everything you buy is linked to a console AND a gamertag; if you're using the console that it was purchased on (or transferred to), it'll work. OR if you're logged in with the gamertag that was used to purchase the stuff it'll work. What you'll probably want to do is leave the licenses on the old 360 and just keep your gamertag logged in on the new 360. That way everything you bought on the old 360 will work on both systems.

Yes, that is the deal: all or nothing. After you have used the xfer tool to do it's thing, all you are doing is downloaded the license itself to your unit. No part of the actual license assignment process takes place during the download.
