Maybe my eyes are sensitive or something, but I'm really bothered by these flashing things all over the place. If I look at a computer monitor from far away or at the corner of my eye, it appears to be flashing. If they're lower than 85hz refresh, I can see the flashing as well. Flourescent lights are even worse. If I look at something under a flourescent light, at an angle where the light itself is on the outside edge of my vision, the flashing gives me a headache. Very annoying.

I can tell right away if a monitor's refresh rate is low, and I cannot stand it. My eyes will hurt before long.

I think there was a poll on this before...

And yeah, anything below 65hz gets to me. Fluorescent lights, not so much.

I'm very sensitive to refresh rate on monitors. I've been doing software deployments at work, so I go to a ton of people's computers each day. When I sit down, I can immediately tell if the refresh rate is low. I usually ask the person if they get headaches all the time at work.

i can detect anything below 75 Hz, and 85 Hz+ definetely reduces eye strain over time. i hate flicker, too, it gives me a migrane.
