Can you say BOMB on an airplane?

I was having a conversation on the airplane and I said something like "the back-up systems are just clones of the current system. They were really designed in case the building was BOMBED or not there anymore".

I didn't think anything of it till I noticed two people in front of me turn around to see what was going on.
 
There's a difference between just casually and quietly slipping that in the conversation (i.e. "man I bombed my test yesterday) vs.

BOMB BOMB BOMB I GOT A BOMBBBB EVERYONE
