Hi,

My GF is taking over my computer these days (!) and it drives me nuts that she always signs me out of MSN and then logs in as herself all the time. I have buddies that sometimes shoot me a quick message and I hate it when I miss them.

Is there a way that I can run two copies of MSN messenger (at the same time) on my PC?

I'd like to stay logged in as myself and then she could login as herself.

Please post your thoughts.

If you have XP, run both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger. Both can be running and logged on at the same time, tho' you must be using different accounts to do so (which is exactly what you want to do).

You may run into minor problems if either client was set to remember password. It's easy to kill that, tho'...

Gaim was a pretty cool program, I DL'ed it and tried it out, but I couldn't figure out how to bring my ICQ and MSN contacts all into the one big list....any comments?

All I could do was open two copies of Gaim - one with all of my ICQ contacts and one with my MSN contacts....Hmmmmmm

That is incorrect. All of your contacts use and are specifically under .NET...hers too.

Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger both use .NET, <the Architect>ergo,</the Architect> you can use either program for your Messenger contacts.

What I do is run Trillian with one set of contacts (ICQ/AIM/Yahoo/MSN) and run MSN Messenger in the background for another account. Works good for me. I'd say give your g'friend the MSN Messenger and you take Trilliam (or GAIM if you can get it to work- I've never used it, so can't say anything) and run with it.

Altho' I have to say the Ctrl-Alt-Del Lock option sounds best :D That tends to end up getting you laid off from the b'friend position, tho'. If not that, at least a vacation from sex until you either convince her you're the man of the house or capitulate to her demands (smileys & sh|t ALL the time).

G'luck ;) Just when you think you have it beat, she'll change the rules.

There is a crack for this online...

Google it with your EXACT MSN Messenger version and download the crack.

Then you can simultaneously run two instances of MSN Messenger....
