Can you run faster RAM at more aggressive timings on slower mb?

Hello,

I am running an epox 8k7 w/ 2 sticks of 256 2100 ram. I am looking to upgrade but don't want to do everything quite yet. My question is can I buy some pc3200 ram, obviously not run it at that FSB, but give it more aggressive timings at the 2100 speed?

If the question needs clarification let me know, ram timings still kind of confuse me.

Yes, that's fine.

There shouldn't be any real problems running your PC3200 RAM at the fastest possible timings on your motherboard.

Probably.

But, you have to ask yourself, "Will I notice any difference in speed/usability by running at tighter timings on my system?" Answer....most likely not.

For the same reason I'll tweak a completely fresh windows install until windows won't boot, format again, and repeat. It's a matter of honor.
