That's a screenshot of my temperatures at idle.

But, when I'm gaming with my case fans on high, I get this:
mobo 33
CPU 43
GPU 84

and when my case fans are on low:
mobo 40
CPU 47
GPU 84

I guess my Connect 3D X700 Pro doesn't have a very good heatsink. But, I crashed a couple of times in the BF2 demo so I thought it would be cool to see the temperatures while playing.

I don't have an ATI card anymore. But, I thought you could use ATItool to monitor the GPU temperature of an ATI card. Usually utilities like that also let you record the temps and view them later (after the game).

Take a look at your BF2 shortcut properties, and change the +fullscreen 1 to +fullscreen 0, and then set a game resolution that is less than the size of your desktop.

ATI Tray Tools (different from ATI Tool) has an OSD feature which you can use to display temp while gaming.

Right click on your desktop Battlefield 2 shortcut and then select properties. In the box called "target", you'll see the command line that is being used to launch the game. Edit it as I described above.

As others have suggested, it may be simpler to use a video card utility that will record or graph your video card temp over time. You'll be able to alt-tab out of the game and still get a good ideo of how hot hot your card was running. I haven't tried out ATI Tray Tools, but it sounds like with this you won't even need to return to the desktop.

Lots of options to play with for what you are wanting to do.
