Question Can you replace a 6th Gen socket on a MB with an 8th or 9th Gen socket?

So i got an ASUS Maximus Hero Vlll from a friend of mine with badly damaged contact pins on the socket. It's a 6th Gen 1151 socket and i was wondering if it can be replaced with a newer generation socket instead of the 6th Gen?

Do you mean replace the socket on the board itself, or install a newer CPU? Since you say it has damaged pins I assume you mean the former which would be impossible. The socket pins are connected to traces between the board’s PCB layers that could not be repaired by a person.

and trying to fix the bent/damaged pins is precision work that needs to be done by someone that knows what they are doing.
