Does the same thing apply when they ask you to '...pop your hood...'? Is that considered a search? If you pop your hood, is that considered consenting to his 'search'?

I'm not sure. They have some right to verify that your vehicle isn't illegally modified, putting it in violation of state inspection. But I don't know how far their right to verify that extends. They can write you a ticket for just hearing your exhaust though....

lol

TVR's wouldnt go down well with the american police then? the noise they make is one of the reasons people buy them. those speed six engine roar like monsters

thats your choice, and while i wont repeat the entire thread, if youd *read* the thread youd understand why it is of no benefit to you(and possibly harmful) to consent to a search.

with the answer of "NO" would mean, you are giving permission to search your vehicle.

i have made it very clear:

No Sir! You may NOT search my vehicle. i do NOT give you permission

clear enough?

i guess speaking correct english is just too difficult.

Do you mind if I search your car?

Yes, i do mind. I will not give permission.

a bit clearer wouldn't you say?

what are you, a friggin english professor?

sheesh, you are one anal person. no wonder you have over 16,000 posts ... they are all probably stupid BS like your posts contributed to this thread.

if you got nothing to hide, why bother resist? Just think the officer is doing their job to make the community a safer place.

I got profiled driving thru Kentucky in 1998. Being Asian in a Asian sports car with out of state plate speeding behind bunch of white folks (6 cars total in a 1 lane highway, my car was the 4th), I was the one they pulled over because I stuck out like a sore thumb. He officer even told me that I don't fit the "local profile of their typical citizens". Asked to see my car, I said sure. He looked at my laundry detergent in a coffee jar and my wardrobe in the trunk and let me go. All but set me back 10 minutes. I'm sure if I resisted, it would be hours before I resume my journey.

Yes, my civil rights were violated that day but I'm sure the officer felt his state was a safer place because of their profiling practices.

Those racist bastards. Profiling is such bullsh!t. I bet he pulls over a LOT of people just because they're Speeding Americans. I feel your pain, brother.
