The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons looks like 2 interesting books. In fact they're on my list once I finish up The Stand (uncut version), The Fire and Ice series, The Deathgate series and Swan Song.

anything by R.A. Salvatore for fantasy.

Snow Crash is considered the ultimate science fiction fantasy novel of the last decade.

Thats another on my list, is it better than Neuromancer? I tried reading that twice but Gibson can really bog you down by over describing everything.

Snow Crash was a pretty good book.. if your lookin for Sci-fi try either that or Ender's Game, that was a sweet one too.

If your lookin for a fun book, I recently read one called Youth in Revolt by C.D Payne that was pretty good, hilarious at some points.

For Fantasy, I'd go with the R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf Trilogy, or George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones... both of those are good, I'd have to recommend Game of Thrones the most though.

If you want regular fiction, I'd go with either Clive Cussler's books, Angel's and Demons if you haven't read it - (though really I'd only recommend reading one of Dan Brown's books, once you've read one you got em' pinned) and then I recently read Prey by michael Crichton and that was pretty sweet.

I read a lot of books in a lot of catagories, hehe.

(Sorry about any spelling or grammer errors, I just woke up and don't feel like correcting it)

Looks like a lot of good books were covered but here is my input:

Tom Clancy's "Net Force" Series
Cliff Stoll's "Cuckoo's Egg"
Mark Z. Danielewski's "House of Leaves"
George Orwell's "1984"

Stranger In A Strange Land - Heinlein
LOTR's
Watchers - Dean Koontz
The Art of War - Sun Tzu
Dark Elf Triligy
Seize the night & Fear Nothing - Koontz

I second Watchers!

I've read all his books and this is by far my favorite.

You'll love it, especially if you're a dog lover!

One Hundred Years of Solitude is a great one off the top of my head. One of the few ~1000 page books that you want to start reading over as soon as you finish. In addition, another vote for Snow Crash. It's definatly one of the best sci-fi books released i the last 10 years.

If you like Sci-Fi/Fantasy books, get "The Cleric Quintet" of the Forgotten Realms series.... Written by R.A. Salvatore. i can't think of the names of the individual books though...
