I want a camera that I can hook up to my network that will allow remote control viewing of whatever is in front of the camera. I want to be able to pan tilt and zoom the camera via web software remotely. It does not have to be super quality but I need it to be able to zoom and to check things out. Audio not necessary but a plus. Any recommendations are helpful. I have spent hours and hours and hours trying to figure out what to get and it boils down, so far, to either a network out-of-the-box solution with marginal quality and great expense, or a CCTV camera with additional hardware that converts that to tcp/ip and may or may not have PTZ capabilities.

A price tag under $500 is mandatory :)

Thanks!!!!

No PTZ features, youc an reposition it manually, but not remotely. And it's one of the worst products I've ever used. We had every one sold returned, it only connected to networks about half the time, and when it did it was slow as dirt.

I know but for the price it's hard to beat.

Cheap isn't always the best though :p...deals are great and all, but for a camera without the features he wants that has a horrible reputation for not working, maybe it'd be better off to pay extra for one that WILL work?

Wow, that AXIS 213 is sweet! However it's like $1400 :( I will keep an eye out for them though, you know, should someone offer to sell me one for 10 cents on the dollar :D
