Hi guys!

I am planning on buying a new color inkjet ($100-$150) to use for my daily needs. Charts, numbers, web-pages etc.
I may occasionally print photos but that's not the main intent.
Should I buy Epson, Canon or Lexmark, if I want to be able to find chep cartridges on-line? I've figured those on-line dealers do not carry HP. This drops Hewlett out of the question.

Thanks for your time:beer:

Canon i560 will be your best choice,Canon inks are cheapest around for both generic and Canon brand type.

Fine printers with cheap ink: Canon. Either the i560, or if you spend a few extra $, the i865 with direct-to-CD printing, an extra tray for photo paper, and twin black cartridges for text and photo printing. Ink cartridges are all separate, one for each color, on either of these printers.

I should be getting my i865 tomorrow,so I`ll post back here on how well it performs for both text and photo printing.

Just received my i865 Canon printer, comes with 5x glossy photo 6x4" postcard size paper and one CDR -PR 700MB(Maxell)as well as the 5 ink carts, the CDR printing attachment is only needed to be attached to the front when you are printing to a printable CD.First thing you do after print head and inks are installed is install the drivers then do the head alignment which defaults to auto mode(there`s manual option for head alignment).Btw also comes with a photo attachment paper tray for 6x4 prints etc,you can leave that on or off the printer while printing A4 size.

Installing the printhead is easy enough , just follow the quick install guide exactly and it should be a piece of cake,as to inks well they seem to last forever,I`ve printed about 20 A4 photo prints and its still showing near full, the printer is very quiet so that`s a bonus, print quality is excellent.

I`m very impressed with the i865 :).

Another vote for Canon. I've got about the cheapest model (i450) and it does the job for me. Color prints have absolutely NO banding and text is crisp down to 6pt (smallest I've tried) - very little splatter under magnifying glass. Clone carts - ~$3 for a set of black and color!

Canon, I have a cheaper i320, even though it's not a high end model it's awesome and works great.
