Hi folks. I want to get a great camera, which can take great still photos and great videos, but be of a small size. One that can easily fit in your pocket and surround it all by the palm of your hands. Can you please recommend me some?

Since it is small, zoom can't be big so 4x is fine.

MP ? I think 8 MP is fine.

If there is nothing this small, then I'll get little bigger, no problem.

Check out the Canon ELPH series, about size of a deck of cards.

ELPH 100 HS $180ish, ELPH 300 HS is $250ish, and the ELPH 500 is $300ish.

Any of which will do what you want.

Yup, was gonna say - the ELPH 500 does great 1080p and has a 24mm f/2 lens. $100 cheaper than the S95 and does 1080p, which the S95 doesn't do. But if the focus is more on picture quality than HD video, the S95 will probably be a better camera (720p only on that one).
 
Great suggestions. Thanks to all. While we are at it, can you recommend a bug? or a spy camera? I want to see how my maid treats my kids while I'm away. Spy camera for the house, and a bug to plant in my kid's clothes maybe.

Ebay search for "1280 spy keychain". Some have motion detection recording. I use them for my biking videos because they're inexpensive ($10 for 720p, not a big loss if it breaks) and because I'm too cheap to buy a GoPro :biggrin:
 
Well.. I'm really liking the new 4/3's cameras... they are bitchin! (especially they have the world's fastest zoom lens also...)
