CAN YOU PLAY DirectX GAMES IN 2000 Professional?

Well how is it done then, I have Toca-2, Superbike2000 and NeedforSpeed I'm trying to get going....

First of all, go download any patches from the makers website. Second, not "ALL" old game work in WIN2k, this is because they don't detect Win9x. This is the fault of the game maker, not Win2k.

I understand that and I have done all that. I have Unreal and Q3A working but not TOCA-2 and Superbike2000. These last 2 are even newer then the first 2. I know its an issue with DirectX.....I just don't know how to solve it.

I'm glad I know that website now...

Superbike2000 is still a no go....It runs the movie then goes back to desktop.

Need For Speed 5 Won't even let me install the game.....

also i found i had trouble running the game till i updated my video card drivers.

It won't let me install the game. Due to the fact that it doesn't detect Win98. The it boot out and won't let do the install.
I have later nVidia drivers......

I believe that directX 7 games almost certainly work in Win2000. I know that all coverdisk demos do now. So little reason for win9x now!

Diablo2
Starcraft Broodwar

all works in win2000

Diablo2 and Starcraft actually runs BETTER with win2k (i feel they are smoother)
Quake3 is a bit slower tho
