Can you pick the lock of a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a coat hanger?

My friend locked her keys and her dog inside her vehicle.

I've unlocked older cars with a coat hanger, and I'm just wondering if the lock assembly is similar on the Jeep.

While it's definitely important, it's not like it's summer, the dog will be fine I'm sure.

If you call someone to open the door for you, they wedge a piece of plastic in the door jam in the upper corner (furthest from the hinges) and then use something long or hooked to hit the button or pull up on the lock. I highly doubt the coat hanger trick will work. You have to be careful since you will be bending the glass in the window, but you could be able to pry the door open at the top corner wide enough to get something in there.
