Can you parallel park?

So can you parallel park?, I can, but I'm not great at it and it usually takes two tries..

Ok here's the scenario:

You're on busy two lane road in downtown. You spot a parking space that is 1.5ft(45cm) longer than your car. For one thing, can you visually see your car can fit in there and can you park in there without irritating the cars behind you?

How long have you been driving?

Do you live in urban, suburbs or do your neigbhors have cattles?

Edit: If you can't parallel park without hitting anything, you fall in CAN'T category

If I recall correctly...isn't it required that you learn how to parallel park to get your license? And yes...I can.

I can usually parallel park my TRUCK on the first try, without touching any other cars.

Been driving 7 years. Grew up in the suburbs, live downtown now. The parking spot in my apartment complex requires that I parallel park.

I can parallel park, but 1.5 feet longer than your car? No way. If you could get in there then it wouldn't be without pissing off everyone else. I'd say you need a space at least 3 feet longer than your car to park in a reasonable amount of time.

My truck has a wheelbase of 154.7 inches, and a length of 20 1/3 feet. I can || park, but it is a bit*h.

No way I could do it if I only had 3+ feet. According to my algebra, at 3' I would hit both cars (front and behind) at the same time.

Now, in this last snowstorm we got ( here in chicago ) I parked my truck in a spot that had probably 4-5 feet extra room. I love my locker 🙂

Another thing to add to the Jerboy problem page Uber 🙂

As for parallel parking, geez, if you can't, you shouldn't have a license.

I can park head in, tail in, on an angle, on a hill, etc... I suck at parking against a curb with a car on each side. I usually end up kinda on an angle. It's probably cause I've only had to do it about 5 times in my life.

I'm from a suburban area.

Parallel parking's a breeze once you figure it out.
To answer your questions, been driving 12 years (holy shiznit, I'm getting old)
Originally from urban, living suburban now.

i'm not too shabby at parallel parking. i really hate it when ppl parallel park and park like 2 inches away from the guy on one side and like 3 feet away from the other guy. :|

parallel isn't too bad for me, unless i'm holding up traffic...
but parallel parking up on a hill is tricky!
=(

Anything smaller than a jet. I drive a cab part-time right now, and usually I drive a truck full time. I change careers so damn often it's ridiculous.

Oh, i've been driving for almost 13 years now, am 28 and live in the city Providence/Boston(don't ask how it's possible to live in two cities, believe me, it is.) My personal vehicle is a conversion van and it's easy to park.

1.5 feet? thats a little small dont you think. i could do it if it was 3-4 feet, and it would take a while. 1.5 feet on each side is doable, again it'ld take a while.

I have to park on the street in westwood everyday, because i have no parking, and parallel parking is a must. I've been driving for like a year, and its not that hard.

1.5 feet would be difficult, but i could do it. been driving for 2 months(by myself, 10 months total) 🙂
