Can you overclock a Dell Dimension? My Model # is: Dimension 4500, I'm just curious if Dell doesn't allow you to.
Actually, you'd have to buy at least another motherboard and another power supply (Dell uses proprietary ATX plugs, that only connect to Dell mobos). Of course, you could try this: link to ClockGen. It's a Windows overclocker that allows you to boot at "normal" speed, then raise the fsb from Windows. You still won't be able to go very far at all, though, since your mobo doesn't have a pci lock, and you have PC2100 ram. I'd recommend going from 133fsb (your proc.'s default, I think) up to somewhere between 138 and 140fsb.Originally posted by: Sid59
