Can you name this animated movie?

Ok so when i was like 3 or 4(24 now) i saw this movie and i remember being very weird almost scary. I want to see it again but i dont know the name of it so im hoping someone on here might know. Only thing i remember is a castle floating in the sky where this witch or something turns people into bricks. I tried googling but i didnt find much but i did find this thread
Please help me find the title of this movie!



I watched this movie in the early 80's with my younger brother. We didn't get to see the ending because he started crying because it was too scary, so the t.v was shut off. To this day we both speak about wishing to see the movie again.

All I can remember is that it is about a witch who turns people into human-shaped bricks to build her castle. I think I recall the castle floating in the sky. The witch flys on a broom and I recall some sort of weird music that scared the both of us.

I tried a google search and on one website another lady describes the exact same movie as I do but the answer they gave her was 'Unico'. The film I watched has nothing to do with unicorns and I don't remember it having any pastel-type animation...it is definately a darker kind of animation.

I seem to remember it being on The Disney Channel but I am not certain. If anyone can help me, it would mean a lot for my brother and I. He is 22 and I am 30 now. Thanks!

That sounds a lot like a Puff the Magic Dragon movie I think.

If not Puff the Magic Dragon then it had a dragon in it. I remember there being a dragon and a kid. Someone was turning kids into bricks to build a castle that if I remember correctly floated in the sky. I think the kid gets turned into a brick and dragon saves the day. Then the bad person gets killed and they sing a song with a line that goes "And the Walls Come Tumbling Down".

Then rainbows appear and the the kids fall down and turn from blocks back into kids.

Im guessing this is long shot trying to find this but I dont remember puff the magic dragon or anything like that but then again i was so young and i think i was sick when i was watchign this so it was very vague.

This sounds familiar. Were the human bricks rather dull grey and rectangular shaped with a subtle geometrical looking texture?

"The second movie, Maho no Shima he (released in English as Unico in the Island of Magic), directed by Moribi Murano, was released July 16, 1983. The villainous Lord Kuruku wishes to turn all humans into zombie-like beings called "Living Puppets" to be his slaves. Unico meets a sweet young girl named Cheri (also spelled "Cherry"), whose older brother Toby (in Japanese, "Torubi") is being used as a "Pied Piper" to change people into Living Puppets and lure them to Kuruku's castle. Cheri's parents and neighbors all get turned into Living Puppets, and she and Unico team up to stop Kuruku. The Trojan Horse reveals to them that Kuruku is himself a puppet who was was mistreated by his owners and discarded. He washed up at the edge of the world - where all unwanted "junk" ends up eventually - and was brought to life with the power of sunlight, determined to take revenge on the human race. With help from Marusu, the Sphinx's daughter, Unico - who realizes that Kuruku is really just a lonely, friendless creature - is able to break Kuruku's spell, but since Kuruku's hate was the only thing that kept him alive, Kuruku reverts to puppet form. Cheri keeps the puppet Kuruku as a toy and resolves to take good care of him. Soon afterward, the West Wind finds Unico and spirits him away once again."

i dont think unico is the movie. Ok lordnoob is right about the bricks being rectangular and greyish. One thing i remembered was the design of the evil witch i think it was a witch. She had a pointy hat and im pretty sure her body was like one big cirle with no legs and i think she might of had arms. As far as i remember this movie or whatever it was very dark atmosphere not very cartoonish.

The evil Lord Kuruku orders the pied-piper-like Toby to play his little song and turn humans into rectangular wooden blocks that follow along when he plays his weird creepy music so that they can all come together and form Kuruku's castle.

well your right that is the movie. I went on youtube and searched it out. They actually have it the whole thing broken down into 10 segments. I Cant believe how much of effect this movie had on me but it was only certain parts. One in particular was in the second segment with toby in the tree where you see the nightsky in the background as he is playing his flute. Ive seen that image very vaguely many times in my dreams over the years and had no idea till now what inspired that. Almost creepy in way but lord kuruku is the witch i was trying to describe. This whole movie is just different its almost anime meets disney channel cartoons. Well thanks lordnoob for helping me with that i never thought i would ever find the this movie with the very little info i could remember about this movie. Also is there any place you can buy this maybe on dvd or vhs?
