Can you Name the Countries of the World?

I would like to know the true name of the different countries of the world, with a literal or phonetic translation into the English language.

For example:
Japan=Nippon or Nihon
Germany=Deutscheland

If anyone here could find the translation for Egypt and Ethiopia, that would be great.

China = Zhong Guo (I think). That's the pin yin. In Cantonese it sounds something like joong gok.

It means "middle kingdom", or something like that.

I suspect it more demonstrates where the term "nip" came from.

I've always wondered why each language has to come up with its own unique spelling/pronunciation of other countries. I mean, España has been España to the people there for who knows how long. Why don't we call it "Espanya" in English, rather than Spain.

India: Referred to as India (derived from Indus) by Brits. Original name "Bharat" named after a king Bharat. Another name is "Hindustan" called by Mughal (Islam) invaders. Hindustan = Hindu (religion) + stan (place where lives)
