can you mod a slocket for FCPGA to run an FCPGA2 CPU?

can you do this? I know the voltage might be bumped to 1.65V, but thats fine... I just need to know if its possible, and if you have a link for the mod, then all the much better ;-)

You're welcome to believe whatever you want to believe. You might even think that hot water freezes faster (the dumbest "wives' tale" ever), but nobody has tried to come up with a mod for an FCPGA slocket, since the ones that actually support FCPGA2 without modification are less than $20. If you're that cheap, design the mod yourself.:roll:

ok, well, I've been looking and found quite a few people that have done it, heres an example http://www.overclockers.com/tips965/index.asp

The point is I already have all this stuff and am just screwing around with it. I don't really care if I fry it since its all extra stuff. and its fun...

I posted a que about asking what the maximum CPU I could put in my Asus CUSL2.

I had an FCPGA P3-500 in there.

I got a lot of responses to buy some adapter that would allow me to put an PCPGA2 Tualitan in there.

If you find the post, there's a url in there for the adapter.

I'm still running my FCPGA P3-500.
I'm looking to replace it rather than upgrade it.
I'm lokking to get an NF7-S with a mobile 2600+ to OC.

You can defintely get an adaptor for $20 and a 1.4GHz for $40.... not too bad for an upgrade, depends on the rest of the compoents of course.

Haha, as long as you don't spend ~$1,000 on a Prommy for it, I won't think you're crazy. Well, maybe a little, but definitely not off the deep end. j/k
