I am running an abit ic7 board and have 2 sticks of 256 meg corsair 3500 memory on it.
I understand that this is 2 sided memory.
can I add 2 256 meg sticks of kingston memory ?(I think this is single sided memory)
I am not sure if it makes any difference or not if they are kept in the same banks.

its a matter of $40 difference in the memory prices.

thanks big time for any info

by the way if you have 2 3500 sticks can you add 2 3200 sticks...same brand or not ?

thanks again

You can mix and match memory but the following exceptions apply.
1. Dual-Channel mode has a likely chance of not working.
2. The system will run the memory at the timings and speed of the slowest module.
3. You shouldn't overclock because the memory uses different chips and threfore will react differently.
4. Possibility of system instability in some situations.
