Yes, do that.

i'm outta paper towels....so it was a choice between TP and just sticking the thing in there alone....

now TP felt a bit odd, so i just stuck it in and watched closely...the instant the cheese started to bubble i yanked it out!

awesome.

Well, I know you can't store gasoline in styrofoam, that's for sure!

mm napalm for dinner 🙂

whoa there...I know what gasoline does to styrofoam, but what does napalm have to do with it?? curious

Back in the late '70's when microwaves were new, there was concern that microwaving coffee in a styrofoam cup was unhealthy. It seems that powdered coffee creamers reacted with the styrofoam creating some kind of hazard. I don't know if it was a real or imagined threat and I don't know what came of it.

gasoline + styrofoam = styrofoam dissolves in gasoline, with the right mix it becomes sticky & flammable. not REALLY napalm, but same idea...

I just emptied a fuel hose into a cup, turned around for a second, and the bottom was gone  did the same thing to a thicker plastic cup.
