i have a card that i have problems with and i want to rma, but i can't find out what manufacturer it is.. here are pics...

pic #1

pic #2

so far i found MSI, Asus and Palit to be using purple PCBs, but the shade of purple is a bit brighter, and it uses a different fan...

I asked my friend who has a Purple MSI 4400 and he said it looks just like the one in the pic.

thanks for your help!

btw your friend's MSI card... does it have the same cooler as the one in the pic? or just the same board?

MSI makes the PNY boards so it maybe an MSI. I got a PNY that's the same color as your card. But there's a sticker on it that says pny. Mine doesn't have that sticker
in the second picture.

Yes, he said the cooler and capacitor locations on the board look the same.

It's is definetly a PNY board, I used to have one and would recognize the color anytime. Not sure about that heatsink though.

And I know that MSI makes PNY, but I believe that the MSI boards are red.

I had an MSI Championship edition that was purple like the PNY.
That heatsink looks spray painted IMHO.

I'd be using a PCI diagnostics utility, read the subsystem vendor ID and card ID registers. Then go www.pcisig.com to search the vendor database for the subsystem vendor ID.
