I have Klipsch 2.1 Speaker system for my PC, but I recently just purchased a new 27" flatscreen toshiba. :) I was wondering if I could hook up my promedias to the TV, and if it's possible, what do I need?

The TV probably has RCA outputs (red & white cables). You just need a RCA to stereo 1/8" mini plug cable.

If the TV doesn't have a headphone jack it likely has a pair of RCA left / right audio out on the back. You could use a 2 RCA - to - stereo miniplug then if needed a male-to-male adapter (little 2-female double plug).

Well, good. That's some positive news. Maybe you could link me to something that would work for me? My TV is here. If you take a look at the views of the TV, you can see alll of the connectors in the back. Unfortunately, no headphones port. But I'll get the right cable when I find out which to buy! :)

A lot of the audio cables I looked at had the same type of connectors on each end, and I don't think they'd fit into the klipsch subwoofer/amp. Help! :)

You've got the correct outputs to do it - you just need a 2xRCA Phono -> 3.5mm Jack adaptor. You should be able to get one from any hardware store.

Sweet. Could you post a link please? Sorry, I'm REALLY noob at audio/home theater stuff.(Ya I realize this isn't a home theater but for me its is ;))
Here's what the back of the sub looks like. (cause one part of the cable has to go in there...)

You can find it yourself at radioshack.com if you search using the wording that I and Woodchuck2000
gave you, or even print this out and go there in person.

PizzaDude, dont' sweat this. Go to Radio Shack and get a cable as recommended by Spicedaddy (remember that the 1/8" end is female). Don't worry about the connectors on the back of the subwoofer, they all go to the satellites. The cable from the control satellite that has the 1/8" male miniplug will plug into the female 1/8" mini plug on the cable you get from Radio Shack. Then plug the red and white RCA plugs into the back of your TV, into the respective red and white Audio out connectors.

PizzaDude, here's an example of the connector you want, at BestBuy.

Jeff H,

That looks like both ends are RCA. As a Y adapter it simple takes one signal (mono) to two identical signals, or stereo to mono. As RCA it won't really help Pizza dude hook it up to his Promedias without losing stereo.

PizzaDude - Just think of how you hooked your promedias to the computer. Your going to do the same thing to the TV except you need an adapter to convert the male 1/8 inch mini plug (same as a headphone) to male stereo RCA outputs (red and white OUT connectors on tv).

This Cable from BB will get you half way there, you just need a little double female adapter so you can plug both the male miniplugs together (promedias and your new cable).

artemedes, you're right, I posted that item w/o looking at it close enough. PizzaDude, get the female 1/8" mini plug w/ two RCA connectors and you'll be good to go.

Thanks Jeff H and artemedes. That helps a lot. This one should work then right? I could plug in 1 from the promedias on one side and 1 from this cable on the other and then hook it to the tv right?

PizzaDude, that would work, but I've got to believe that Radio Shack has a femail 1/8" mini plug to two RCA plugs (red and white) that will get you there. Either way should work.

The contraption would have a female 1/8" plug on one end (stereo) and two RCA male plugs on the other end (one red, one white). The two RCA plugs would plug into the audio outputs of the TV, and the Klipsch audio plug (1/8" male stereo) would plug into the 1/8" female plug on the other end of the RCA plugs.
