Can you hook a computer into a laptop so you can use the laptop LCD screen as your monitor for the computer?

Is it possible to output the video signal of say my ATI 9800 video card in my computer tower into a laptop so I could effectively use the laptop LCD screen as the monitor for my computer tower?

Not if you want to keep the laptop in one piece. ;) Otherwise it's a no, unless you have some kind of hybrid laptop.

Not as you stated, but what are you trying to monitor? I am thinking you mean as your primary display, which is really no.

There is remote control software that allow a monitor of the primary. BUT, that just sends down the screen info and frames badly.

Then there is the debug kernel, but I think that is not what you meant at all.

Actually, this came up pretty recently. There's a utility, MaxiVista, that lets you treat another computer's monitor as if it were a secondary display connected to your own machine. Haven't tried it, but reports say it works, and you might want to look into it. I don't think it can replace your primary display, however.
