Can you help me with this?

My mouse has 2 extra buttons - wheel left click & wheel right click.

Currently I use these set for browsing (Back and Forward). But this means when I game, I can't use these because 'back' and 'forward' aren't valid buttons. Or if I set it for gaming, then browse functions don't work.

Is there a way to sync my gaming mode and desktop mode- Chrome extension or third party app?

It always worked for me in-game. I just clicked left or right to assign the buttons. Each button has a number, and it should be independent of the global setting.

Then you can't use back or forward with the same buttons, that's the whole point, brah.

Then it must be the game's problem... Dota 2.

I don't know anything about that game, but look for a config file in the game directory, or maybe in your user directory(likely App Data) where transient data gets stored. See if there's a way to set the controls in there. Each mouse button has a number, and you should be able to set the command to the corresponding number. That's if they designed the game decently anyway.

Edit:
Alternately, you can maybe set the keyboard shortcuts to bk/fwd in the global settings. That's especially easy if your mouse does macros. I'm not sure if these keys work for Windows, but Alt + Lt arrow, and Alt + Rt arrow are bk/fwd respectively.

The developer is Valve, a quality company. However the game is in beta and they don't have this implemented. I guess I just have to wait.
