Can you help me up building my PC?

Hello I have got a couple of questions about PC im currently building up. Here is the current setup:

Corsair Carbide Series 300R Compact Black (CC-9011014-WW)
Intel Core i5-6600K, 3.5GHz, 6MB, BOX (BX80662I56600K)
ASRock Z170 Extreme 4, Intel Z170, 4x DDR4, SATA3, USB 3.1, GBLAN, ATX
Thermalright Macho 120 Rev.A (TR145)
MSI GeForce ® GTX 1060 GAMING X 6GB GDDR5
G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4, 16GB (8GBx2), 3000MHz, CL15 (F4-3000C15D-16GRBB)
HyperX 240GB 2,5'' SATA SSD Fury 7mm
Western Digital Caviar Purple 1TB (WD10PURX)
Asus DRW-24D5MT/BLK/B/AS
XFX Core TS 550W (P1-550S-GREN)
ASUS VX248H [1ms]

Actually after my attempts to build a good PC, shop seler totally changed it giving reasons like RAM is too slow if you want to overclock to 4,5 GHz your i5 because I originally have chosen Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 2400MHz. He was talking something about overclocking my RAM and actually that's just it. He had recommended the configuration that I shared above. Actually I don't know why but he was complaining about Western Digital Blue 1TB, SilentiumPC Fortis 3 cooling or motherboard, MSI Z170-A PRO because "with that one you can't fully overclock your i5 6600k" as he said. He told me that this A at the end is different than Z170 so it makes impossible to fully overclock and Extreme 4 is best option for this. For true overclock i need G.SKILL ram at least 3000 MHz or even 3200. The last thing is XFX Core TS 550W which he said is sufficient for that setup, but another guy the other day when I had gone to complete the order told me to change it to better one for 100 euro or even more. Can someone explain me differences between those motherboards, ram stuff because i used to be well informed but recently i feel unsure about my knowledge of PC's... Oh i heard that HyperX Fury SSD is also shit...
i was thinking of Kingston HyperX Fury Black RAM btw

In other news... i need some help with monitor but its probably wrong place 🙂

Yes, but you should ask the mods to move your thread to the Computer Help or General Hardware forums to reach the proper audience.

Sorry I didn't know which one should I choose 🙂 Waiting for your responses guys 🙂 Actually after deep review of RAM I changed it to HyperX Fury 2400MHz. AsRock doesnt support 3000 MHz g.skills only 3200 so there is no point to pay extra for them. I also checked the difference of performance between 3000 Mhz and 2400 Mhz and I find it useless to invest more than in 2400Mhz. What you think of it, should I change XFX to be quiet!? Heard some roumors that after some time XFX becomes noisy.

Thats good components right there! Just the PSU, I would go for a eVGA if you can find one.
Also looks like AMD with their 400 series they are gaining the upper hand on the new titles, most dx12 and vulkan favor AMD.

That might be true for a GTX 1060. I certainly wouldn't go over 3000 for less than a GTX 1080. There seems to be some link between RAM speed improving game speed and higher-end graphics, as opposed to lower-end graphics.

That's a bogus reason. Since Sandy Bridge, RAM OC can make a CPU OC harder to achieve.
XFX Core TS 550W which he said is sufficient for that setup
It is. It's probably sufficient for even a GTX 1070. Which I would encourage you to attempt to aim for (Edit: a GTX 1070, that is) - that will most likely have a bigger effect on your system than faster RAM or CPU OC.

Thanks for your reply. I was actually aiming for XFX 650W and SLI 1060 in a couple of months for which is actually better than 1070 and 1080. But this idea might be more power consuming and at the end of a day it's would be better to run 1070 card and eventually in a couple of years SLIZED it or actually change into sth different. Ok my friend told me that no matter which one 1060 ill get because he was kinda complaining that I'm getting GAMING X by msi, I will be able to get the same fps result, overclocking it to the same level and its just waste of money, spending so much on msi card. Which 1070 would you recommend to me, then? Should i switch to be quiet! power supply with 500 W or should I stay on 550W lvl? Do you think I can somehow lower the price of motherboard and stuff? I understand that i5 is well enough for gaming and stuff?

Have found some information about fan in XFX that starts being noisy after 1 year, many people report that problem 🙁

Doesn't the 1060 not support SLI?

I personally would not get an XFX PSU. Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic only right now. Why a WD purple drive? Isn't that specifically for video surveillance cameras? They will perform poorly as a regular hard drive. Very wasteful spending on the memory. That CPU cooler is kinda overkill even for an overclocked skylake i5. You could probably save a bit on the motherboard too. I'd personally consider the new intel 600p PCIe NVMe as a system drive.

Your seller sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about if he's recommending a video camera recording hard drive over a standard blue drive and other nonsense about overclocking ram. It almost sounds like those are the parts he wants to sell, not what you need. Not to mention NVidia does not support true SLI with the 1060.

Well I'm confused right now xD I do know that shop sellers usually lie but I could not believe that would be as much as that xD Well so I'm switching to WD Blue as I already noticed it is for monitoring but he said it will be ok -.- When it comes to PSU could you give me any that I could choose for GTX 1060 or 1070 as I am confused now which ill choose. I cant believe he told me such a bullshit about SLI 1060 XD Which motherboard will help me fully overclock my CPU and will be good value to money I dont wanna choose a shit just to Save up some coins. Also renew my questions which one of 1070's should I buy.

Post your build the way YOU want to build it. Then we will make suggestions. Forget what the shop keepers are telling you, the group of experts on this site are far more knowledgeable.

Indeed, I bet that most of the shop keepers just sell computers and are not geeks.

Ok here you have after my intervention due to costs, the selly guy was very annoyed that I am trying to overlay mine over his ideas.

i5 - 6600k 3,5 GHz
MSI Z-170-A PRO
HyperX Fury Kingston 2x8GB 2400MHz DDR4
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 OC GDDR5 VR Ready
SilentiumPC Gladius M35 Pure Black
Corsair VS 550W CP-9020097-EU
Western Digital Blue 1 TB
Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev. B
SSD HyperX 240 GB FURY
ASUS DVD Reader

Ok so starting with mb. "This one you can't use to fully overclock your CPU because it supports 3200MHz ram only and you have 2400 MHz its very bad." I don't give a shit, same store different place I asked three times if this one support overclock they said yes. I decided to upgrade GPU after watching some benchmarks and comparison of 1070 models and the difference is between 1-2 FPS, actually cheaper cards have higher value of MHz than MSI GAMING X with already higher stock clock... Also as you recommended I changed PSU to Corsair one with good feedbacks. The cover is Polish brand which is created by geeks and they have kinda eastern european prices so I would choose this one.

Nice build. I like that case. The PSU is a bit on the budget side, you might want to consider a seasonic S12G or EVGA supernova. They are a little more efficient.

I am partial to Samsung or Crucial SSD's myself because of their proven track record.

I would even go for SilentiumPC PSU but you know it's kind of new brand and I am not really sure about that. They dump prices because it's their way to get into the market and they can do this because of lower costs in Poland offering good quality for not much money, well as far as I know they don't have any problems with PSU but the difference is that every product they have got which is comparable with be quiet! for example is like 25 euros cheaper so I was looking for the best case they have got and it's hard to get over 50 euro with the best one. But you're an expert, I don't wannabe beta tester so I will follow your suggestion. Someone more have something to say? 🙂

The PSU will probably be OK. Just make sure you have a decent warranty on that. Your other changes are good. I personally would go with Samsung or Intel for an SSD but you probably can do well with the one you've got listed. I'm glad we could help prevent you from making some bad decisions. 🙂

This one by Silentium has 5 years door-to-door warranty GOLD certify and cost same as average be quiet!
https://www.silentiumpc.com/en/silentiumpc-supremo-m2-gold-550w/ I have seen some video on youtube with a guy testing the voltage and efficiency with some special stuff, just please take a look at this because price is kind of... very low. 😛

Thank all of you very much mates. I was about to make some stupid decisions with motherboard for example for no reason but u really helped me a lot. Just to make sure, is there any special feature that I would get for my motherboard for a bit higher price? Maybe another one ?

Just to let you know the final config (without GPU but that will be 1070) I made it a bit Polish so I put some parts from Silentium haha 😀
