can you have sata and ide hd?

i'm trying to add an ide hd as a second drive i know you don't need to jumper the sata drive but what of the ide sould it be master or slave beinng os a sep. ch. i'm not sure

i dont see a problem putting it as master if its the sole drive.

Sure. I'm running 2 SATA drives in a Raid-0 config, and added an IDE drive about a month ago. Two different busses. My IDE drive is jumpered as channel select, but master would have worked just as well.

THe IDE drives have nothing to do with the SATA drives. Forget the SATA ones and jumper the IDE one like you normally would, cable select, master, slave, whatever. Keep it simple and just use cable select on your drives.
