I have these headphones, which I love...If I ever got an ipod I'd want to use these with it. I hate those earbud things....so can it be done? would I need an adapter?

No adapter needed.

I hate those earbud things too-- except for travel-- they hurt my ears after awhile.

When I didn't have an iPod, I thought maybe the iPod used special connectors to connect headphones.

Accipiter: Yes those headphones will work, as long as you use the mini jack.

As with all things there is a caveat:

Depending on the resistance of the headphones the ipod may or may not be able to drive them to your satisfaction.

Will it make noise? Yes.

Will it sound good? Maybe.

If you have trouble get yourself a headphone amp.

The impedance of the speakers in the headphones might be less such that you need a headphone amp as Viper GTS just stated above me.

A preamplifier uses the larger plug.
