I want to test speeds on our server

download this 1.44mb zip file

Can you let me know what your average speed was, what your internet connection is and where you are located?

In Atlanta working for the gov't. Couldn't see the speed. It finished in about a second.

EDIT: 283k at home. Bellsouth DSL

i got 277 off of a T1 in LA. need a bigger file to see how high i can go. the only figures i got before it finished was 28->277->complete!

it took between 3 and 4 seconds to download.. Olean (western NY), on Adelphia powerlink (cable)

It's not a 1.44mb zip file... It's actually a 1.36mb file.
For what it's worth,
A megabyte isn't a million bytes.... it's actually 1,048,576 bytes (2^20)
and a kilobyte is actually 1024 bytes (2^10)

Nonetheless, it's always a pleasure to download at the speeds my connection is capable of....
I just have to find more things to download from the places with faster download speeds (such as movies)

Thanks for the tests guys. Were going to be running hosting off of this server soon and want to get the server fully tested before we launch.
