Can you guys help me overclock my new rig?

I just got Asus Nforce 4 SLI motherboard, AMD 3200+ 90nm winchester core, PQI's DDR 500 1 gig of ram (3-4-4-8 timings), MSI's 6600 GT, 74 gig raptors, 500 Watt power supply, zaalman's new 7700-CU fan, thermaltake tsunami dream, voice-controlled cathode lights, NEC's 3500A DVD burner, Samsung floppy drive.

I want my Amd 64 3200+ to run at 2.6 Ghz...
How can i achieve this with my new DDR 500 memory and my Nforce 4 SLI motherboard? (i got one of best fan coolers out there so i'm hoping for the best)

can you tell me what timings/ voltage i have to use... i wish it's safe to use these timigs/voltages

I have the same board and processor, but I have OCZ pc3200 platinum rev. 2
First of all I think you made a great choice with the PQI DDR500 and it may overclock better than my OCZ.

First all I would recommend checking out the excellent overclocking guide in the CPU section of the forums. General tips I would have are:

1. Always drop you HTT multi from 5x to 4x before starting to O/C, and once you pass FSB of 255 drop it to 3x
2. Always work your way up to your target overclock, moving the FSB up in small steps, and at the first signs of instability increase the CPU voltage.
3. Experiment with different CPU multi's

Here's what I've learned so far about overclocking this board.

1. there are no manual memory divider settings on this board, therefore there are only two ways to run ram on this board.

a)AUTO, this setting will automatically apply memory dividers as you raise the FSB over 217 and force the ram to run async at less than 200mhz. or

b)MANUAL ie.. DDR400,etc.., this runs memory 1:1 with the FSB and keeps it 1:1 as you raise the FSB. Be aware if you select DDR500 your 3200 will try and boot at 250 x 10 = 2500mhz (mine won't run stable at this setting even with max CPU voltage. Even though you have DDR500 memory, if you want to run your memory 1:1 you should boot up using the DDR400 setting then increase your FSB in windows using the AI booster utility provided on the motherboard CD(your ram will stay at 1:1 this way).

2. this board apparently sets the max CPU voltage for winchesters at 1.50 - 1.52 you can set it higher in bios or with AI booster. but when you check it in AI booster or ASUS probe it never shows higher than 1.52.

3. The maximum FSB appears to be 291.6, you can set it higher like 295 or 300. but when you boot up and check CPU-Z or AI booster it shows 291.6

Hope this helps
