Can you guys come up with an alternative to this mobo/cpu combo for the price? ECS K7VTA3 and Duron 1.6 for $80?

I have a friend looking at the AMD Duron 1.6GHz Bare CPU w/ ECS K7VTA3 (8.0c) combo for $80. I had him looking at this combo for $50 at Fry's (neither of us has a Fry's nearby), which was a great deal, but at $80, I'm sure I (we) can do better for a cpu/mobo copy.

Combos for around $80? What would you buy?

Fry's have the Thorton 2200 with ECS K7VTA3 available for 74.99 you can try to contact them and have them ship it to you

Where did you hear this? If so I'm going to have to run to frys and pick one up and overtime get a new setup for my little brother who is playing his snes games on some pentium233mhz with a frameskip of something ungodly like 9

It's in their ad in today's San Jose Mercury News. Price is good through Tuesday, I think. It's a bare CPU, so you'll need to budget for a HSF.

Kinda tempted myself, actually (you'll understand why if you look at my current rig).
