I'm in the UK so links product suggestions would be best in uk stores etc...

I realy cant decide on the best overclocking spec, doing my head in...

2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB)

Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM Intel M

Asus P5B Deluxe (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

HIS ATI Radeon X1950 Pro ICEQ 3 TURBO SILENT Heatpipe 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (H195PRQT256DD-R)

1. is this a very reliable oc mobo, ive heard mixed reports, i want the best oc mobo for 130gbp
2. what do you think of the ram, any better out there? i cant find the adata vitesta which is apparantly better.
3. any better bang per buck suggestion for the gfx card, if theres asomething a lot better for not much more ill consider, just want good bang per buck. must be silent.
4. suggestions for the best aftermarket cooler for around 30gbp would also be appreciated, easy installation would be a plus, needs to be silent/very quiet.

my overall budget is around ?700 gbp (only need the above 4 components.)

i want to make this system as overclockerble as i can for the money (is that how you spell overclockablelel???? lol
any opinions would be much appreciated and sorry for this boring forum topic

Anything with Micron D9 chips is worth considering for the RAM, but you should check xtremesystems.org forums or ocforums.com for recommendations on both the mobo and memory.

AFAIK the x1950 is the second best card out there, and the best is the 8800, so no there isn't something a lot better for not much more. And none of these cards are silent, including the one you listed.

Overclocking and silence do not sit well together.

Where are you shopping? I've been going to scan.co.uk recently, good prices, but microdirect.com is good too.

overclockers and various.

it doesnt need to be silent just pretty quiet i spose, no whining or loud fans, the gfx card i picked is an iceq which are relatively quiet.

if anyone could suggest a good mobo ram combo for the e6600 thats not really expensive then i would be greatful, and i will check those forums out aswell.

cheers

I think perhaps Atheus is thinking of the X1950XTX? The X1950pro is a high-mid-range card for about £130 and for that price is absolutely great. It's quieter and uses less power than the X1950XT (and XTX). If you wanted more performance at medium to high resolutions like 1280*1024 and not much larger (if you have a CRT for example) you could check out the 256Mb X1950XT which isn't much more expensive at £176 at scan.co.uk

With the E6600 you won't need as high a FSB to get to your max overclock range as an E6300 so you don't need extreme RAM. The Corsair Dominator sticks are good quality but in my opinion hideously overpriced. Overclockers.co.uk still have some Crucial 10th Anniversary sticks left (and from what I see they're the only place left in the UK that has stock of it remaining) and they're great sticks with handpicked Micron D9 for a lot less than the crazy heatsink memory from our friends at Corsair 😛.
