Expanding on and taking the challenge:

I'm looking forward to the next post in this series - Can you go 100-days without exercise?
Well we already know a lot of people here can go 100 days without sex so we're running out of topic options

OK, let's say no more than $20 or the equivalent in your country?

I rarely have more than that unless I know I'll be going to one of the few merchants that don't accept plastic without an extra fee. 100 days with less than $20 is pretty common.

I keep a spare $20 in my pocket for emergencies, but mostly I just use Apple Wallet...groceries, gas station, fast food, even the local farm stands now have a Square or equivalent device to bop your phone on. Very rare for me to have to use cash for anything these days.

Pbfffft. This is weaksauce/lame. Plenty of people never use cash these days, especially with the pandemic this last year.

If you want a challenge, go 100 days without spending or buying anything.
Sound easy? Hope you have a large pantry to stock up on food for 4 months.

I only use cash. Same with everything else, it's possible, but I'm gonna need some incentive to change my lifestyle. I could also go without spending money, but I need fuel for the truck. Company would have to fill it for me. Doable, but a needless PITA.

The only thing I use cash for is paying the drink cart while golfing, and that's only because they don't have a mobile card scanner. The day they get one will be the day I probably never need to use cash again. Good riddance.

I could go 4 months without using cash, but I'd be stocking up on cannabis beforehand. My dealer doesn't accept plastic. :p

I've probably completed this challenge many times over. I use cards for everything. I only ever get cash when a place doesn't accept cards or I will always take cash with me when traveling.

Challenge accept and completed years ago. I am paying very much everything with my reward credit cards to earn cash back. I only pay in cash for places that do not take credit card such as my barber, the vending machines (not sure why my credit cards almost never work there).

MJ dispensaries here only take cash. Does it count if I just use the in-store ATM and don't actually put the cash in my pocket?

Ehh, i keep cash at home for tipping delivery people. Especially over the last year as we have become hermits.

In the US, I assume? Yeah, because still federally illegal, even businesses in legal states have to figure out alternate methods of banking and can't use Visa, etc. I think there's been legislation to change the federal laws for banking so that the businesses can utilize normal services, but it obviously hasn't become law yet.

Most if not all of my food deliveries have been 'contactless' and I pay with a card online or on the phone so the tip is baked in. I know delivery people prefer cash tips, but whatever.

i wanna say i never use cash, but there is this damn shop near me that only lets you use cards on £5 and above, and they got good stuff so i do occasionally carry actual cash. However i've been practically cash-free for years. Don't even need it at the pub.

I only use cash if I get some as a present, and then a coin for the trolley at the grocery.

Easy…been doing that for many, many years. I keep cash in my wallet.

Now, if you were to ask "Can you go 100-days without taking things literally?" I would have a problem. ;)

Went to the grocery store last night, every line was full....except the cash only one. Win for me. I use the credit card most of the time but I always carry some cash.

Considering that I barely leave my friggin house more than once a week nowadays, I figure that I could probably pull that off. Even when I was still going out for work, I was paying for everything with my credit card for the cashback bonus.

I had an emergency $20 bill in my wallet for months until I needed to use it at a restaurant with a broken credit card machine.
