Can you get the light sword from the elite in Halo?

I saw a video where some guy was running towards the covanent forces with the light sword. Is there any way to pick it up from the elite after killing it? Or was it just in the video?

I was never able to pick one up... It would have been a nice secondary weapon to have though

I just wish Halo 2 was coming out this year....

I dunno it was just in a video. I thought it would be cool to have the light sword and kick some ass with it.

In System Shock it was a cool weapon. Hackin' up robots n stuff... that was a sweet game, might have to get a dos emulator and fire it up

it also would be cool to have the hunter's huge gun, or to have the Jeep's gunner.. but no you can't.

In the original computer version you could but it was removed when development shifted to the xbox.
