can you get sick if you're already sick?

my gf's horribly sick so I want to go over and try to help her out a little. I'm also sick, with something else...probably just getting over it though. is it true that you can't get sick with something else if you're already sick or recently were, since your immune system's all boosted up?

It doesn't matter. Go over and help your GF. No kissing though, and make sure you wash your hands frequently, esp before eating.

yes, but it will probably be not as bad. there are two major immune pathways... specific and non-specific. the specific pathway will be ready to fight the infection you already have, but will be ineffective against the new/different infection. however, the non-specific pathway will also be boosted, which can lessen the impact of the new infection somewhat.

I dooubt it. The white blood cells are in overtime. Any new pathogen introduced will be immediatly squashed unless you get a huge dose.

Don't exchange body fluids, wash your hands, don't touch your eyes and keep your stinkin' finger out of your nose (hers too).
