Can you get free delivery confirmation for USPS media mail?

Delivery confirmation is free with Priority Mail if you print labels out from the USPS website. Furthermore, delivery confirmation is only available with Priority Mail and First Class Mail.

I regularly use delivery confirmation on media mail. Not only is it available but I usually get asked if i would like to add it to my media mail that doesn't already have delivery confirmation

I will double check today at the PO, but minendo is right in that on the USPS website the service listing for delivery confirmation does not include a rate for media mail.

***CONFIRMED*** PO lady says you can do it but it costs $0.10 more than delivery confirmation for priority mail.

Delivery Confirmation is $0.45 for priority mail
All other mail including MediaMail, delivery confirmation is $0.55

You cannot take delivery confirmation on media mail and first-class if the package is not atleast 3/4 inch thick. If it is not atleast 3/4 inch, you have to upgrade to priority mail to get delivery confirmtion.

I think it because they offer delivery confirmation for boxes only. 3/4 inch makes it a box, maybe. 😀😀

Edit:- they offer for parcels only. apparently envelopes are not parcels.

If you're mailing paper, one way to beat the system is to toss some peanuts into the envelope 🙂 Then you can get some DC on 1st class!

The fee for the retail option for Priority Mail service will increase from $0.40 to $0.45. For Standard Mail service, the fee for the electronic option will increase from $0.12 to $0.13. For the purposes of adding Delivery Confirmation service to First?Class Mail items or Package Services items, a parcel will be defined as any piece that has an address side with sufficient surface area to fully display the delivery address, return address, postage, markings and endorsements, and Delivery Confirmation label.

The parcel will be required to be in a box or, if not in a box, will be required to be more than 3/4?inch thick at its thickest point.

This is a newer policy then. According to their website, DC was only available on Priority Mail and First Class. I stopped shipping media mail because DC was not accepted, but I guess I can do that again now.

Newer to me.😛 I stopped using media mail 2+ years ago when I started trading since they did not offer DC. I always checked their website for updates, but none were provided showing DC available with anything but Priority or First Class.
