Can you get cauliflower ear from piercing it?

I know cauliflower ear is caused by repeated damage to the ear, but what about a one time piercing? So long as I keep it disinfected, it should be fine right? Curious because I had my ear pierced about 2 years ago, stopped wearing an earring for about a year, then a few minutes ago I decided to repierce it. So, I shoved it in there. It only hurt a little bit.
