Can You Get A 20 to 24 Pin Power Adapter?

Well, looking at getting the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, which needs a 24 pin PSU connector, but I still have the old spec. PSU. Can you get adapters to go from 20 to 24 pin, and do they work properly ie. I don't want to get the board and find it doesn't work, or gets fried!

Some motherboards come with them. If the mobo comes with it then it's probably been tested.

If this mobo is like and asus a8n...u dont need the 20to24 pin conector....just plug it in where it fits...its one way only so u cant plug it in a wrong way !!!

You can plug straight in or use an adapter, but those extra wires were added for extra current carrying capacity. So keep an eye on your 20-pin connector to see if it is getting too hot. I've seen some really nasting looking pix of ATX connectors on this forum that resulted from overheating. And I've seen a few up close in my time as a repair tech. You don't want that to happen to you.
