Can you flash a 9600pro ---> 9600xt?

Whatever you do, make sure that your card is capable of running at XT speeds 100% stable before you attempt anything. These flashes are risky. The XT may use different memory timings which could cause problems for your card. It also has the temperature sensor for the overdrive feature; I'm not sure that the Pro has that feature.

The 9600Pro uses the R350 core, the 9600XT uses the R360. I don't know if a flash would work.

Just strap on some massive cooling and overclock.

there is already someone here that has tried a mis-matched flash with poor results, Unless there is a definitive guide as there is for the Radeon 9800Pro > XT, i wouldn't attempt it.

They have different cores, so it's not likely that it's possible. I know for a fact that people have tried this before and turned their 9600Pros into shiny expensive doorstops.

I always see people trying these insane mods on their 9600 cards. I guess they're trying to compensate for the lack of 4 pipelines and poor performance.
