I have an Iwill KK266 that got its ATX power socket fried by a bad power supply. Needless to say the connector melted to the socket. The socket was ruined! I got a new mobo but I want to try to fix this one! Is there anyway to unsolder the connector and solder a new one on to the board? I didnt think you could do this , but I thought I mgiht ask just to get some feedback.

It might be kind of difficult because of the multilayered boards. If you dont get all the solder out before removing the connector there is a risk of ruining some of the contacts in the middle layers. Does that make any sense. How did the connector get hot enough to melt?
