the top square button under sound mutes the sound, however what is that mic on the top since the one on the bottom is what controls it?


i know ive gone full retard, however steelseries website doesnt provide support AND has no forum T_T

I assume that's the volume it plays back whatever the mic picks up. Perhaps for people who have on closed headphones and can't quite hear what they're saying as well as they would like.

Yes, it's playback volume and is generally kept muted except for testing in the absence of an application having an integrated test. But you could have discovered this since knowing the square buttons toggle mute? So if not actually using the microphone, then mute its recording to minimize noise (all analog inputs add noise at some level).
