I thought my Hi-Val 52x CD-ROM drive had bit the dust because it quit reading cd's (when you would go to load a game, the splash screen would appear, but the cd-rom would spin down and never speed up again...usually locking up my system). It would still read audio CD's though, or CD directories...
So anyhow, I pulled it and installed an older (slower) cd drive that worked fine. Out of curiosity I put the 52x in my old P233 and it worked fine!
So now I have the 52x back in my system and it just can't get it to work! I have had it on both primary and secondary, master and slave. Un-installed and re-installed the drivers. There are no conflicts in my system. The best it will do is read the cd directories and play audio cd's...
Anyone know what I'm missing?
