Can you extend your dell warranty.. after the fact?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying a dell notebook computer off of Ebay, however, alot of these computers were bought wholesale and only have a 1 year limited warranty.

Anyone know if you can upgrade your warranty after the fact? Anyone have any experience with that?
